A dark but touching drama that explores family relationships and the connections that really bind us together. Set in Ireland and New York over twenty years For the Birds follows an unexpected pairing where things aren't always what they seem.
This is the first collaboration between Jen Browne and actor/writer Siobhán Donnellan.
Jen and Siobhán met while studying in Belfast, Northern Ireland at Queens University.
For the Birds has been in development since early fall of 2009, with many of its original scenes and
characters being developed over Skype and email. After ten solid days of writing and a four day
development workshop in January 2010 with director Aoife Connolly. For the Birds received its first
public reading in Limerick, Ireland as part of the Belltable’s Unfringed Festival.
Director Halina Ujda will be working with the writers in a second workshop in preparation
for the play’s premiere at the New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC).
